Plot
Alternate 1990s, the war is still going on, the Earth is industrialized to the limit and many are forced to flee to the stars. Space piracy is rampant and the crews of many ships are increasingly being attacked. In the role of space mercenaries, better known as “Marauders”, players will go in search of resources necessary for the survival of civilization.

It mixes dirty dieselpunk with sci-fi and mixes elements of Tarkov with spaceship battles. It sounds exciting? We have collected all the information we know for you!
What is the Marauders’ game?
Setting: In this alternate timeline, World War I never ended. Since the Earth during this time was completely mastered, humanity, of necessity, went into space – but even there numerous conflicts arise. You are a marauder, that is, a pirate who is looking for valuable loot and uses it to create more powerful weapons and equipment. The game takes place in an alternative 1990s, but without bright colors and outfits, and in a dark diesel-punk aesthetic.
Gameplay: Let’s first check what these words are: hardcore shooter, multiplayer, first-person perspective, crafting, and tactical combat. In Marauders, you navigate your way through a dark world alone or in squads of up to four players. Your goal is to collect the best equipment in dangerous raids, harden your enemies, and then get out alive. What do pirates do in space – space rum is then guaranteed.
Spaceships: In Marauders, you not only upgrade your tactical combat equipment but also your own spaceship. You can also build it yourself from captured resources, equip it with more powerful weapons and use it to hunt prey. According to the official description, you can even hijack other players’ ships and hijack them – which should work the other way around too, of course, so always be careful! The trailer conveys the dark atmosphere of the film “Marauders”.
When and where do the Marauders appear?
The shooter will soon be launching in Early Access on Steam before the end of 2022. PC Game Pass owners will also be able to play at that time, as the preview will also appear on Microsoft’s subscription service. This means that the finished game also needs to go directly to the library when it is released.
By the way, a playable demo will be released soon: According to Team17, this is planned to be done at the WASD gaming event in London, which will be held from April 7 to April 9, 2022.
A final release date for The Marauders is not yet known, but it will most likely not happen until late 2023 or early 2024.
